Building Your Foundation for Success

If you are anything like me you have some larger ambitions for your life that may feel totally out of reach. You may try and reach for them anyways and end up never being able to get things moving. I came to the realization that I was not yet ready to reach for my larger goals. I had a lot of growing to do before I was ready to start pursuing all that I knew I was capable of.

How I started this process was reflecting on what was holding me back the most from success. My first step was fixing my sleep schedule but it might be something totally different for you. Some other potential aspects that you need to look at are mindset, health/fitness, cleanliness and organization of living space, or really anything else that is actively detracting from your life.

Now just to be clear fixing my sleep schedule was far from the only thing I needed to work on. I am still actively working on aspects of everything I listed. It really isn’t something with a finish line but more something that becomes an active pursuit to improve the lagging aspects of your life.

Start by working on what could give you the greatest benefit if you improved it right now. This allows you to pursue things of greater difficulty as you start to build your foundation. You now have built yourself up to be able to function at a higher level. This gives you a floor to fall back on when you have a bad week, since you don’t dip as far it lets you quickly climb back up to the higher level you were operating at. Your foundation can always be improved on but just getting the basics figured out will increase your chances of success for your larger goals.
