Building a board game production business has been a challenge to say the least…. And will continue to be a challenge since I still have a long ways to go.
It all began with a product since you cannot have a business without something to sell. Designing a game for the first time is a challenge to say the least so it was easy to get pulled into the rabbit hole of designing while neglecting the business side of things.
I know that I can get the business moving forward without having my game complete. Though with any consideration I know that this is a mistake and that part of having a successful Kickstarter (or whatever approach I end up taking) that I need to have an established brand with some sort of community.
Which brings me to this blog and why I am so happy to have you here! I would love to have you join this new community. My goal is to foster a place that is focused on growth at every level personal, community and so forth. Somewhere also to discuss the difficulties of building a business or making a game. And of course somewhere to discuss board games!
I do feel good about what I have decided to pursue for my business but know that I will need to take a wider look at things in the near future to make sure I understand what I need to do next. Thank you for reading!
